Science and Technology Day

What was the world like in the last century? What difficulties did people face? Was there efficient communication for everyone?

One thing is certain: If today we live in an unequal society, 100 years ago this was absurd! Health was precarious, electricity was not yet a reality, only wealthy people could study and the majority of the population lived in a state of poverty.  Underemployment and poor pay were common, subjecting people to truly inhumane conditions. 

Above all things of value is knowledge and the Industrial Revolution, although it caused harsh side effects, such as the extinction of professions, began a new era of professionalization. 

Technology was becoming popular, responding to Science’s desire to evolve. Now we had complex machines, which required trained professionals to operate them. The train of progress was at full steam and taking it was the only guarantee of subsistence. 

Nicola Tesla heads the prodigies of the last century, bringing to light valuable knowledge about electricity. We literally come out of the darkness and into the light. 

The Automotive Industry is another giant that was born  in the same period, to become the greatest passion and object of desire in the world, being to this day a pillar of the world economy.

Medicine takes a quantum leap in evolution, with the invention of penicillin. Among many things, it drastically reduces mortality from infections.

Science and Technology together looked like a comet, traveling at the speed of light through the Universe. Suddenly everything was possible and in the 60s they would take us to the Moon, fulfilling our greatest desire, to conquer the stars!

It didn’t take long for computers to arrive, to carry out complex calculations in a short space of time and thus boost this scientific-technological evolution with the force of a propellant! 

The era of improvements and refinements began and, finally, in the 90s, the Internet arrived, once and for all confirming the power of Science and Technology.

We moved from darkness to total connection between nations, like in ancient Pangea, but now without even having to leave the chair. 

Yes, Science and Technology brought hope, dignity, possibilities and inclusion, precisely because along with this evolutionary peak came free knowledge. Of course, there is a lot to improve, so that we have an ideal reality, but we are on the way. If Humanity always cares for its own good, we will continue to evolve and achieve things we would never have imagined possible!
